Most everyone knows someone that has to do continual learning for their job. However, for most of those people it is required. The difference in Sales is that usually your company does not offer continual learning options. Most of that is done in your weekly sales meetings. If you are lucky and have a good manager you will get good training. And you will get on the job training as well. Especially when you first start. So basically what I am saying is that if you want to excel and become one of the best sales people in your field you are going to have be proactive and always be open to finding some learning opportunities. And that doesn’t mean learning more about your product or service. What I mean by that is just learning more in general about sales. Seek out the best sales people in your area and pick their brains. Learn more about what makes them successful. Learn new techniques and new pitches that you can tailor to your business. Read about sales and about your industry. Talk to the best sales person in your office and ask questions. Practice, Practice, and Practice some more with your team. Ask your team to role play with you. Join a sales forum to get ideas from other sales reps in other parts of the country. You can actually do that on this site <here>. You found a good place to start to find tons of information that can help you. But always be on the lookout for ways to get better!
